2018 was a busy year for us! Here are a few of our favorite examples of what we taught in 2018.
Built to Serve: SA Youth
This semester (Fall 2018), we have been teaching “Built to Serve: SA Youth.” In this hands-on introduction to design thinking, UTSA Honors College students are working directly with SA Youth, a local non-profit that supports academic achievement among low-income students, to reinvent its current facility and identify new programs to further meet the needs of the community.
Designing Experiences and Experiencing Design
In Fall 2017, Tara taught a hands-on design thinking practicum in the Honors College at UTSA. In this class, students conducted user research and prototyped product concepts for a pet subscription box.
Leading Change: Overcoming the Women’s Leadership Gap
In Spring 2018, we taught an Honors College seminar in which we explored the complex causes of the women’s leadership gap and developed tactics and strategies for overcoming it.
